Doily Chic

I discovered a fantastic blog the other day www.moredesignplease.com and came across the most amazing lampshade - made of doilies. So no longer are they exclusive to your grannies afternoon tea....

They look amazing, and create a great light effect. I must try to give that a go. I also found some other alternative uses for doilies that look great and are simple to do...

I use pattern in most of my work, and with so many talented pattern artists out there and fantastic blogs such as www.printpattern.blogspot.com/ I thought this week I would show off a variety of patterned items from folksy sellers. These are a few of my favourites...

Honestly, I do need this!!!

I was in John Lewis this week when I spotted this teapot - not just any teapot - the Orla Kiely teapot - Oh my god I need one of those - but not a week goes past when I dont knock over a glass, or break a cup, so if I am ever lucky enough to own one it would probably have to sit on the shelf and just be admired from afar!

And then I went online and I found this, ahhhhh....how long is it until christmas - is it too early to start my christmas list?

Any other Orla Kiely addicts out there?
